200° of fabulous viewspot of the city
“Atalaye” means rocky promontory in Basque. From this unique viewspot, many “Biarrots” ( people from Biarritz) were keeping an eye for the return of the fishermen’s boats.
Also they could look out if walles were passing and go hunting them, because yes they were walles hunter. But not anymore since more than a century.
They could also watch if ennemies were coming close, they even decide at this place if they have to raise men for kings wars, takes fishermen boats and sailors to go fighting.
Now it’s only a beautiful view spot to watch Biarritz from a top point and the sea with large view on the “Rocher de la Vierge” spot, Biarritz city, and all the Atlantic Ocean.
