Warnings on beach
You may have seen them, and asking yourself “ok, but what all those colored flags means?”. Well, we are going to help you, because it might save you life ! Swimming in the sea isn’t the same as a pool, and since our great country has becoming very popular, too many many people are swimming and doing nautical activities that can be dangereous to others in some areas.
Remember that the sea is still mother Nature, and that is highly dangerous in some ways. Surfing people, bodyboarding people and swimming people are cohabitating together. Sometimes you just have to remember that you can’t surf everywhere at anytime. Example on this footage at the Côte des Basques beach. Surf people doesn’t know how to get away safely because they didn’t observe other local sufing people whom knows how to still surf in those conditions.
Respect the local rules ! Before going on a water spot, always watch few minutes and ask yourself if you can do it. Take your time, and don’t put other people in danger (Example : you want to bring your girlfriend on a spot which is not for her).
On Biarritz and Anglet, you also have some Police enforcement that are guarding the beaches. They can arrest you or give you a fine if you don’t respect the rules, like the flags or if you are drunk and violent to others.
But what means the flags ?
