Urre Gorria sacred best jam 2016 at the World delicatessen Epicure’s contest
The third edition of the world finest delicatessen products choose a Basque jam as a finest one for 2016. Organized in Paris at Palais Royal place, a lot of candidates where presents on many different categories from the appetizers to cafes , through condiments, biscuits , spice mixes and other vinegars … But it’s a local enterprise from Bayonne (city near Biarritz) who won the contest with a jam made with wild apple and patxaran (see the image below).
Their work has been recognized toward a jury made by food critics, chefs and grocers purposes. What has been scurtinized by the jury is the eating quality, the appearance of the product, but also its manufacturing process, its originality and its packaging.
